Kaufmann Vacation - the last installment

To answer Tara's question, we were in Galena, IL for our family vacation. What a fun little town and gorgeous area it was! Matt and I both said we had no idea that ol' Illinois had such pretty, hilly areas! So, here are a few more pictures from vacation...this is the last!! I don't want to bore you all!

a view of Main street in Galena...aren't the little street lamps so fun and quaint? I loved the shopping in this town...it's so fun to go shopping in stores besides a mall. Matt and I went to Galena alone the last morning we were there and we went into a couple of art galleries...it was so much fun! The artists were amazing! One guy was a man from right there in Galena and he did pen & ink/watercolor pictures...kind of made me want to try my hand at watercolor again.
isn't this such a neat building? I loved how they seem to use the old buildings in Galena instead of tearing everything down to build new. The fire engines were in there so it's still a working fire department.

These steps kind of show you how hilly the area is. Matt actually jogged all the way up these stairs to check the view at the top. I told him I only would climg up if the view was good. there were too many trees and the view was dissapointing so I'm glad I didn't try to get to the top.

here is a picture of chet and josh as they were saying their goodbys. andy and marie were leaving a day before us and so as they were inside getting their last things together, I looked out the window and saw josh and chet sitting on the rail with their heads hanging. Chet was talking about something...(I wish I could have heard them) and they just looked so forlorne that vacation was over. So, I went out and snapped a picture. doesn't chet still look so sad? these two are such great buds. Josh seemed a little like a lost puppy after chet left.

the only negative part of vacation...Darci had a couple accidents...so here are the undies drying out after being cleaned.
