Yesterday, Tami and I were enjoying a Normal afternoon, chatting about nothing. I brought in the mail and in the mail was an envelope with flyers about area businesses. As we continued with our Chit Chat, little did we know how one of those flyers was going to Open our Eyes to the ABSURDITY of a local "pet boarding" business. Let me just type out the information we read for the
PARADISE PET - HOTEL & DAY SPA.
At the Paradise Pet Hotel and Day Spa, your dog will enjoy Holistic Biosynergistic Dog Food.
He will be able to enjoy the new POOL.
After his swim in the pool, he can enjoy a nice pet friendly ICE CREAM treat!
At the Paradise Pet, your dog will enjoy the surround sound music and Doggie Lullabies at night.
If your dog is there on a Saturday morning, he/she might enjoy the Morning Brunch.
I'm not sure what's on that menu, but if he visits the "Le Bone Ape - Treat" Bakery, he can have his pick of
BBQ Ribs
Cookies
Beefy Bones
Cakes
Cheesy Dogs
Candy
Birthday Cakes
Breath Busters
and of course the Doggie Ice Cream
Oh, and don't forget the Holloween costume party and other Holiday Inspired Parties! And for the summer, your dog can enjoy DAY CAMP!
For more INFO about this place you can go to their website
Reading this flyer made us wonder...are we in the Twilight Zone?
Oh well...
I'm kind of jealous of those pets...I've never been to a spa before!
Well, enjoy your day knowing there are some really happy dogs out there today getting their nails done.

bek...I'm so glad you posted that! i was even thinking i was going to tell you that on our walk today and then forgot. seriously, i still can't believe it. yeah...i thought it was ridiculous when we thought it was a human spa where you could take your pets!
our poor neglected pets...they had to settle for iams and a chew toy. we were terrible people that we didn't think to dress them up for halloween. what were we thinking? :)
bek, that is so wierd...I hope none of your readers are sending their dogs to pet camp. And the pool sounds disgusting! I can't imagine what kind of stuff is in there. Great post!- heidi
"oh my"..that is TOO much! :)
You mean you DON'T send your pets to the spa???
Just kidding, my thought on places like that is, what a waste of money! Like the dog would even know the difference if they weren't offered the "finer" things in life!
I can not tell you how many frustrated conversations matt and I have had about treating dogs like people (and in some cases better than people). It is OUT OF CONTROL, if you have enough money to send your ANIMAL to that place, you should be sponsering a child in a thrid world country or donating to a local food pantry or doing anything else besides sending your dog to a SPA!!!
Reading something like that really makes me sad. Our country had been so blessed and the priorities are so messed up. Did God bless us richly so that we could pamper our dogs? I agree with Kirsten. If someone has money enough to waste on a dog spa, they should be using it to help the poor or something at least remotely worthwhile! It's pathetic really, how spoiled and materialistic a person can become - and lose all sense of reason with regard to financial stewardship.
I'm sorry, but I was laughing tears. I know it's really sad, messed up, and totally pathetic, but I found it very funny and read it aloud to Daniel.
The funny thing is, if my mom knew a "spa" like this existed, she would probably leave our dog there when they go out of town. She refuses to kennel her! :-)
That is too halarious. I can't believe they have those.
