rebekah, I always thought this prayer was a little morbid too. i use the updated version for spencer which is "now i lay me down to sleep, i pray the lord my soul to keep, that angels watch me through the night, and keep me safe til morning light." it's so much more comforting than thinking of you soul being taken away in the middle of the night.
