A Cheaper Option

Last winter, Matt and I started talking about our dining room. I asked if we could invest in some dining room chairs to go with our table. Over the months, I found different chairs I liked and showed them to him. Here were a couple...

Problem was...too expensive!
So, one night we were sitting at our table and I looked into the school room where we had some of our school chairs. I suddenly thought, "I bet I could make those work!". So I asked Matt if he'd care if I redid them. He was immediately enthusiastic because we were using what we already had...resourceful and cheap!!
So, here is the progression and finished product:

The chair at the begining. These chair were torn at the front and had duct tape on the front. The tape was coming off and was very sticky.

So, I took the cushions off and pulled the ugly material off of the cushions.

Then I sanded them down

Then I primed and spray painted them

I stapled the material onto the seats.

And the back of the seat

Here's the finished chair!!

I'm really happy with them!

Here they are gathered around the table that I redid too. I think I redid these chairs for the price of 1 of the metal chairs up top. Pretty fun!

I LOVE that kind of project that turns out so great. They are perfect and look super cute in the room setting you have. When you look at them, you'll get great satisfaction instead of wondering in you spent too much-totally worth the effort. Great work.
