Here is a series of pictures of the outside of the house we are renovating. I actually don't have the most recent progress. But these will at least give you an idea of where we are going with the outside.
Here is a picture showing how we moved the front door. We moved the large window and put a front door and smaller window...just to help the house feel a little more centered and balanced...and this way we don't walk straight into the family room.
Here is the begining of the addition...This is the kitchen. And you can sort of see here that we have a yellor front door. I love it!
Here is the upstairs and the rafters going up. It was just blazing hot this summer...and working on this spot could be pretty hot to work on. Thankfully, the rest of the house was normally in the shade!
The roof going on...
A shot of some of our summer help...we couldn't have done it without them!!
Here it is with the windows in and part of the siding on. All the shingles are on in this picture. We actually took the large window that was where the front door is, and put it in our kitchen! So, it's going to be a very bright room!! We have tried to reuse what we can in this project. Which can actually be kind of fun at times! You can also see that the maple tree is in it's full fall glory in this picture.
Since the last picture, we've gotten the entire outside done...aside from the front porch we are still going to add on at some point. But that's down the road. Oh and of course we will work on landscaping down the road too. Oh and something I was so thrilled about was that we got to move the unsightly Hicks Gas propane tank from the front of the house. We moved it to the side where it looks like it should have been put in the first place.
I am SO proud of Matt and his skill!!! And we are SO thankful to each and every person who has come out and given there time and talents to help out. You all are such wonderful friends!!
I will post more pictures of the inside and the progress there in the future.
