A friend told me about this survey that Joshua Harris's two younger brothers conducted on thousands of guys ages 12 and up. It is SO interesting to read and it is so good to read what Christian guys are thinking when it comes to what women wear. I am wondering who the 33 people are that strongly agree that it is ok to show clevage when wearing a swimming suit! Very interesting, this brings me back to so many conversations that Darin and I have had. And its a good reminder when making clothing purchases!
There are too many questions, and too many responses, to give a detailed reaction to this survey. But speaking in very general terms, I can fairly state that some of these responses are understandable, some are not, and some reveal a frighteningly animalistic prurience. So please: Don't take this survey too seriously.
If a woman is looking for the respect of men, she probably won't find it in these quarters; some of the male respondents seem incapable of viewing women in non-sexual ways, and I very much doubt whether a different wardrobe will change that. The problem, I think, is in the men's heads and not in the women's closet.
