My familiy has been hit with the dreaded "stomach flu". (I've come to find out that it is not technically the flu at all.)
Anyway, last night, my dear sister Tami, (who is also suffering from a severe cold herself) drove out in the bitter cold to bring us a big pot of homemade chicken noodle soup. She had also made biscuits and a dessert for those feeling well enough to eat it. She also bought sorbet for the ones who were still feeling very gross, and also Sprite and Saltines. I cannot tell you how wonderful it was to have someone bring me a meal when I was feeling so gross. To add to her heroism, she also had to drive through town in her car that has been honking for no reason. So, she not only braved the weather but also the embaressment of honking at people without meaning to! Thank you Tam Tam!! Hail the Conquering Hero!!
Today, my mom, Bonnie ventured out into the cold and snow to bring us soup, jello, clementines, and pears. She came in and even hugged and kissed my sick children....now that is heroism! She chatted with me and made us all feel so much better. Her heroism was also escalated in my mind when I found out that she was having to dodge the showoffs in their SUVs whipping around people on Veteran's Parkway! Thank You MOM! Hail the Conquering Hero!
I'm so thankful to have so many heros in my life!!

I love hearing things like this. We are so fortunate in our family and our church family to have individuals to take care of us physically, emotionally, and spiritually. I hope your house feels better, I will send get well prayers your way!!! If you need anything let me know (our big truck can get through any snow drift!!!) Kirsten
Oh Rebekah - how can I relate! When my sister came a few weeks ago and brought me food and cleaned when I had been so sick I think I felt more blessed than any other thing someone has done for me. That's when you "rise up and call them blessed!"
Hope you're feeling better soon!
Family can be so helpful at times. When we got sick last year, my sister was down here cleaning sheets, spraying the house with Lysol (sp-?). It is such a great feeling. When we were sick I encouraged people to stay away because I did not want them to get sick, but Marsha claimed she neded to see her baby, so she came over and got sick. I do not think Grandparents care if they et sick. Let us know if you need anything.
What blessings! I am sure they were just returning a blessing for the many you have given them!
I'm so sorry you are sick. I hope you feel better soon! On a different note, the fact that Tami's car honks randomlly makes me laugh out loud! Why do those things always happen to her!
Feel better soon!

That honking horn is so funny! That happened to me years ago. I was sitting at a red light and all of a sudden my horn started honking! The people in front of me were so exasperated, and I was horribly embarrassed! It just kept on honking for about a couple of minutes and I couldn't do a thing! It even started honking after I got home and the car was turned off, just sitting in my driveway!! What a crazy, funny time!
thanks for the shout out, bek! "jl", you're right...it doesn't compare to what rebekah and matt have done for me.
As for the horn honking...Megan, I wonder the same thing! Why do these things happen to me? Probably because God knows that I'm weird and would find it funny and end up telling people! :) It will still randomly beep now and then. I think he's (my car) just trying to show off.
