Blond Roots

Even though my hair is very dark...I sometimes tend to say or ask questions that make people wonder if I'm actually a blond. I am very gullible and don't often think through things before I ask a question. I think Matt and Jarod sometimes want to say, "Are you kidding?!?" with the questions or assumptions my sisters (especially Heidi) and I make. One being, on the way to Florida, we were driving speedily down the interstate in our 15 passenger van. Our sliding door didn't seem to be shut tight enough for me and I was sitting by the door. So I asked, "If this door would suddenly fly open, will I get sucked out of the van?" I thought this was a legitimate question until Jarod and Matt looked at eachother and began laughing and started asking me if I thought I was on a jet or something...ha ha ha...

anyway, the reason I was thinking about this quality in myself is I remembered asking my mom a question once that made her wonder about my mental capabilities...

"When a person blows her nose, is that her brains she's blowing out?"

I'm relieved to let any other blonds know it is NOT your brains...I'm very thankful considering how much I"ve been blowing my nose this week with my cold. I need to keep all the stuff in my head I've got!

you're hilarious!!! although...i have to admit, i didn't think your "being sucked out of the vehicle" was that crazy of a question until the boys started making fun. :)

Okay I have to admit, I asked my husband the same type of question, in fact one very similar to the car, I alway make sure he puts the child lock in the car on, so the kiddos can't get out. He laughs at me everytime and then proceeds to tell me not to repeat it to anyone. So you are not alone.

I am VERY gullibul too, you are not alone. Jason Kieser at age 15 had me convinced he was showing a bunny that layed eggs (by simply putting chicken eggs into the rabbit cage) for 4-H. I was asking all sorts of questions such as, "so can they have live young too, or just in eggs?" He finally let me in on the secret and I am still reminded of it to this day. I also worry about Grace opening the door and getting sucked out - it is not crazy, it is mommy fear.

Bek, I haven't read any blogs for a while, but I just saw all the cute ones of your kiddos!
I also have to admit that I am a little gullible at times too...which I guess you already know...even though I didn't fall for the blowing your brains out.

It seems that this is a common fear! I've always thought the same. One time my passenger door wasn't quite shut and I tightly held on to my purse (in the passengers seat) so if the door flew open, it wouldn't get sucked out. Totally thought.

We all have our gullible moments, I think!
