Tara is my cousin on my Mom's side of the family. We've known eachother since we were babies I guess but my first real memory of Tara was when she came all the way to Japan to visit us when she was only 3 years old!! We have some great video footage of us kids at Disney Land in Tokyo dancing on the sidewalk.
Tara and my sisters all became Christians about the same time so we spent a lot of fun times together in the young group. Tara's hosting abilities really started coming out during these years! She had the best cookouts and gettogethers!
Then down at college, Tara and I became roomies at the old Europa House. Those were great times...lots of late nights talking in the dark...pancakes for breakfast...hosting other apartments for dinner...painting our other roomies faces (compliments of Alesa's school supplies!)...birthday parties...and on and on. That was a very fun year and I always say Tara was one of the funnest people I ever lived with!
Tara was one of my bridesmaids when I got married and one of my first overnighters at our first apartment. Since then she's become one of our kids' favorite babysitters! Not only is she a fun babysitter...she's always done it for me for free...you can't beat that!!! But my kids like her so much, I'd be calling her even if she charged!!
Here are some questions I asked Tara and her answers:
Favorite Color to wear: Green
Worst habit: Procrastination on EVERYTHING and then scrambling to finish a task at the last minute. I'm very good in 'speedy gonzalez' mode but I would prefer not to be so rushed if I would just start sooner!
What would you do with $1000.00 right now? Shopping spree?! :-) Actually I would use it to pay some credit card bills, I know boring!
If you knew then what you know now...? I wouldn't try to rush my life. I always felt like I acted older than I was at each stage of my life. Always trying to hurry to the next phase. Hurry through high school, hurry through college, etc. Now I want to enjoy every minute at each stage rather than always trying to look one step ahead.
Your favorite movie? Depends on who's asking. To sound cool I'd say A Few Good Men, but with my close friends I would admit my favorite is Overboard! :-) I do actually like A Few Good Men and Shawshank Redemption runs a close second, but there is something about Overboard that I could watch a thousand times over!
what is something most people don't know about you? That 90% of the time I'm in either pajamas, or jeans and sweatshirts. I HATE getting ready! Anything over about 15 minutes, I lose interest! I go out more times than not in clothes I wore the day before and my hair in ponytail because I just didn't feel like taking the time to actually do something with myself. I mean I like to look nice for special occasions, but day to day I'm lucky if I do my hair!
what quality do you like best about yourself? I would say that I try to be a good friend. I try to be a good listener and supporter in their time of need and put myself in their shoes so I don't give off callused advice.
Your proudest moment? When I got the job with AFC. It was the first job that I had truly got on my own merit and I knew it was a long shot for them to hire me with no experience, and as young as I was. To know that they took a chance on me was very thrilling.
Something that scares you? Failure. I hate not doing something well or going into something and either not being good at it, or failing. I think that's what holds me back from truly going after a dream or idea because reality sets in on all the things that could go wrong if I know someting isn't a for sure, I usually don't want to risk it.
Most embaressing moment? I would probably have to say when I was still in high school and I was standing in the parking lot on a spot of ice and suddenly shifted my feet and ended up right on my back and had a group of elementary students and teachers hovering over me and laughing/asking if I was ok.
When did you become a Christian? January 10, 1993
Favorite kitchen item? My kitchenaid mixer. How do people do anything by hand?!
Ever read a book that changed your life? What was it? I'm currently reading Beth Moore's book Get Out of that Pit. I would say it's a life changing book. It's making me realize the lies that I have believed over the years and reteaching me what a Christian really looks like not what I've always thought they had to be.
One 'unrealistic' dream? (I know dreamers never think any dream is unrealistic...but humor this pessimist) I want to be a famous singer where I travel around and everyone knows my name and wants my autograph and I would be one of those nice celebrities that everyone would talk about that fame hasn't changed me and I don't waste money on stupid things and I'm not a diva where I need all these demands in my dressing room! :-)

I know this has nothing to do with this post but because I have not checked your blog in awhile I figure Id post about a while backs post....the zuchinni...a yummy made up receipe...
Slice zuchinni, onions (large slices(rings) and place in a deep sided skillet. Dump one jar of Garden Combo Prego Spaghetti Sauce ontop. Saute till zuch's and onions are done. Meanwhile cook a box of veggie rotini pasta. Place zuchinni mixture atop of pasta and enjoy. YUMMY.
Yum! Sandra that sounds really good!
