Worth Sharing

I know it's been nearly a WEEK since I last posted...it's been kind of busy.
But I thought I'd share a couple conversations with Josh this past week.
First off...this has been one of the best weeks I've had with Josh in a very long time. I feel like maybe we've taken a new turn in the road! I'm praising God for the changes!
Well the first conversation was a special moment in parenting...
Two days ago, Josh was upset and hollering about something (I don't remember any more) and ran upstairs to his room. After about 10 min., he came down stairs and came up to me with a sweet smile on his face. He said, "I prayed to Jesus upstairs. I said, 'I'm sorry for yelling at Mommy. I prayed that Jesus will help me to obey." I was so astonished that he had gone to the Lord in his need without even being prompted. I'm so thankful that God is working in the heart of my little boy!
Second conversation is not so sweet...just a little more reality of my every day life.
Josh came running into the kitchen this morning crying like something tragic had happened. Darci was close behind...a good guess that she was the culprit of the tragedy!
Me: "Josh what happened?"
Josh: (wailing) "Darci flushed my toilet after I went poop!!!!!"
Darci: (grinning at me)
Me: "Darci, Josh always lets you flush your own toilet...you should let him flush his. Tell Josh you're sorry okay?"
Darci: (with gusto) Sowwy Jawsh!!
Josh: (completely done crying now that Mom has acknowledged the evil deed) sorry Darci. (for some reason my kids always say sorry when the other one apologizes...not a bad thing really...we usually have a little bit of something to apologize for)
This conversation just cracked me up for some reason...something about the drama in my life sometimes being so silly.
Have a good one!

bek, the first story made me cry...i think i'm still emotional from all the "changes in my life"...yikes! :) but i feel like i just pray for little josh all the time, and feel so invested in how he does, so that story absolutely MADE MY DAY!!! thanks for sharing!
the second story cracks me up! that little doozer...seriously, she can be a stinker, but i think she's sooo cool. i love those kiddos!!!

Funny story, I obviously enjoyed the toilet flushing story. I feel like if I had kids I would be more impressed with the toilet flushing than the praying story. I guess that is why I don't have kids and prolly won't be responsible enough for many years, if ever.

I love both of those stories. Like Tami I have prayed so sincerely for our precious Joshua and am so thrilled to hear how The Lord is working in his heart and life. That is really amazing for a five year old. You have to feel like you are doing something right. Something is definately clicking.
As for Doozier, that is so funny. I think you handled the situation very well.

Love you all tons, Mom K.

Bek, I also love both of the stories...and I also cried when I heard the first story and I don't have any changes and am not pregnant either. What precious gifts our children are. -Heidi

all to familiar....this flushing your own poop issue. My children are the same way. Its like its a privelage to flush down your dump?? Even the saying sorry to each other even when its only suppose to be the one who apologizes. Caden always says sorry even when it wasn't him who needs to say sorry. Gotta love children:)

That first story is so sweet Rebekah - that is what we pray for isn't it!?

As for the second story, it all sounds very familiar. If Simon does something to Jonah and I ask him to apologize they both do!

that first story is so sweet. i bet that just made mothering feel so rewarding. made me feel teary.

and the flushing story is hysterical. smith always says sorry when avi says sorry, too. i don't think he gets that he's supposed to say, "i forgive you." :)

Hey, I'm with Josh on this one! I hate it when my wife comes in and flushes my toilet before I have a chance to fully appreciate what I've done.

I'm kidding for all of you who were just weirded out right there. :-)

Stories like that make me excited to have children.
