I've Been Tagged

I'm honored that someone would want to know 7 random facts about me...actually a couple people do. So, for the rest of you who don't care...just skip this post. (Just a warning: I'm really not a very exciting person so this could be extremely boring!)

1. I can fit my whole fist in my mouth...don't ask me how I figured that one out. I haven't tried it in a few years but I don't think the size of my mouth or my fist has probably changed.

2. I love historical documentaries...nerdy I know. Anything by Ken Burns is pretty great. Seriously, I recently spent money to buy "The War" a 15 hour documentary about WWII. Matt and I are loving it...what can I say, we are both kind of nerdy.

3. I think it would be really fun to be a food photographer. I usually won't buy a cookbook unless it has pictures...preferably GOOD pictures.

4. I was a cello performance major in college for 2 years before I switched my major to Music Ed. It was a fun but very challenging major. I finally made the switch when I looked around at the many grad students in cello performance who were 40+ and decided, I'd rather like to be done with my education by time I'm 40.

5. I am a chronic gum chewer and of course swallower. I dedicated an entire post about this a long while back. All the gum swallowers came out of hiding and we had a high old time! My favorite brand is Orbit.

6. As a kid, I had very ODD show and tells at school. ( I was actually only in public school for a year here in America...the rest were in Japan where you have nothing like show and tell) So the two I remember doing was showing everyone how to make raw eggs, soy sauce and rice (a japanese breakfast dish) and proceeded to have people try it. I think the teacher was freaking out because all these students were eating raw eggs under her supervision! The other time was when I took the skeleton of our pet cat in for show and tell in science class. Very gross. I found the skeleton many months after we had buried it....another post dedicated to this story.

7. I have a signed photograph by Charlton Heston that he sent to me in the mail. He actually typed out my address on the front with his trust old type writer. I have always been quite a fan (much to Matt's annoyance!...it is actually a running joke within my family about how my sisters and I adored Charlton Heston growing up) Anyway, several years back when he found out he had a form of cancer, I wrote him a letter (I'll save you the cheesy details), and a few weeks later he sent me the picture to me in the mail. After we were married, Matt's response to my story was, "Is it worth anything? Do you think we could make money on that?" My shocked response, "I am NOT selling this picture!! Charlton Heston sent it to me himself!!!"

I hope I still have some friends after this absolutely embaressing and rather revealing post about myself!!! I don't really know who hasn't been tagged yet but I'll add Shar, Megan, Aaron, Tami, Katie and Alesa

Fun list, Rebekah! I'll have to see that 'fist' thing at the next family get-together. What do you say? :)

oh someday MAYBE someday I'll get an autographed photo from George....

Hey Sarah,
I really would rather have the family continue to think I have semblence of normalness...the fist in the mouth thing would definitly not do that for me. It really is more scarry than funny.

just right george a letter when he's in his 70s and maybe by then he won't have as many admirers by then.

You know Rebekah, I haven't spit out a piece of gum in probably ten years. I chew at least 3 pieces of gum per day, extra green spearmint flavor only, a classic. I think swallowing 100% of your gum builds character.

I'm so honored you tagged me; however, I won't be able to compose for a few days...I'm actually supposed to be doing school work (at least that's what Arlan thinks I'm doing), so I best get back to work...but I'm so glad you bought "The War"...Arlan & I got it off of half.com for $20 (can you believe it!)? We spent all Christmas break last year watching it & we show several clips during our WWII unit...we need to get together as couples for a little discussion!

I don't usually swallow my gum because when I was growing up my mom told me it would make my stomach stick together? Are you telling me that does not happen? That makes me wonder then if I swallow watermelon seeds that they will grow out of my ears and apple seeds the same? Humm? Things to ponder? Thanks Rebekah for playing along!

Rebekah, I too share the ability to put my whole fist in my mouth. I promise not to show you if you promise not to show me! : )
