A Day on the Farm

this past weekend, we got to visit the farm where Matt's Dad grew up! Matt's U. Larry still lives there and farms the land around it so, we went out for the afternoon and Josh and Matt got to help harvest some beans. This was probably one of the best days in Josh's life so far! He LOVES augers and tractors. He's got farmer blood in his veins from both sides of the family so the little farmer enjoyed the day immensely! While Matt took the kids for a ride on the combine, I walked around the farm and took pictures. There's nothing like an old farm to inspire the photographer in me. So, here are some pictures for your enjoyment :) I love how you can see Josh smiling with absolute delight

a resident on the farm i've always loved that this barn is blue...(sorry I accidentally posted it twice...and i can't seem to delete it. just enjoy the blue barn twice I guess)aria was a happy baby on the farm the blue barn again...

this is my favorite picture from the day. Josh was watching the combine in this picture. I caught him dreaming...

in the barn loft...i love this hay loft.

matt showing josh how to swing on the ropes

darci playing with the sunlight

it's fun to notice the small things on an old farm...like the doorpost on the barn being used to take down notes. i loved the "fancy" door handle in the barn
some of the cement work in the barn
Matt's uncle has one of the most organized work areas I've seen...everything had its place...so, of course I needed to take a couple pictures.

Darci sporting her new hat...and of course sweet little Aria

Josh in awe of the auger

Have a good day!

AWESOME Photos, Rebekah! It brings back a flood of memories from when I was little...living on a farm. I loved it! It sure slows me down a bit from the hustle of everyday life, when I revisit a farm or take a look at some beautiful pictures of a farm. I am glad you got to have such a fun time!

Rebekah, those pictures are great. I would love the one of Josh watching the combine. Did you send them to your walmart sight? Can you send this blog to Grandma's email? I bet she would enjoy it.

Bek, I love all the pictures...so fun and makes me also think of when we would stay on the farm at G and G's every summer! Especially the hay mound.
Doozer's hat looks so cute too.

I love the pictures Rebekah! Those are some really great moments, and I love all the details you captured around the place!

Landon loved looking at them with me. He kept saying go back.. up... down... wow. He kept wanting to look at them and wondered who everyone was. :)

Such beautiful pictures!

Also, I talked to my mom and asked her how last Sunday was....she said "Oh we just had a wonderful, wonderful day. I know everyone went home feeling revived. I know I did!" So thanks to you and Matt for visiting and for Matt for preaching such a wonderful message. It was very much appreciated.

Rebekah,

Hi! I want to introduce myself really quick, since you don't know me...I'm Kristin and I came across your blog thru Rachel Langhofer's. Rachel and I were roommates at U of I. Isn't little Owen just precious? Anyway, sometimes I'm a blog snooper, and I popped into yours - WOW what beautiful pictures! I have been struggling with getting my camera to function at home, and I was wondering if you would mind telling me what type of camera you have? I'd like to take some pictures with the fuzzy backgrounds like what you have done, but the aperture settings don't seem to function on mine.

Beautiful children!!

Take care,
Kristin

Rebekah,

I enjoyed being with you at Guy and Patti's today and just love your beautiful photos of Matt and your kids at Larry's farm. It appears that Larry was enjoying himself as well. Those farm memories will remain with your children as long as they live. Of course, your pictures won't hurt their memory, either. Thank you very much for sharing them with us!
