Well, today's Friday Five is pretty random.
Five Things That Hung on My Bulletin Board in High School
Doesn't every girl have a bulletin board in high school? A place to hang our keepsakes, pictures of our friends....basically, it gives you a glimpse into the girl's personality and interests.
So, here is a little glimpse into my nerdy self!
1. I had a little blue necklace with a tiny little Native American woman in a blue dress made out of beads. It had been a gift that my cousin, Whitney had given to me. The reason I had it hanging there was that she was only about 8 or 9 at the time and she had gone on a school field trip and she spent her money buying me a gift. I was so touched by her sweet generosity that I had to hang it in a prominent place.
2. I had an autographed picture of Charlton Heston...my heart throb. Never mind that the man was my Grandpa's age right?

3. A poster I had ripped out of a magazine of John Williams. Does that tell you a little about the magazines I read in high school? Yeah, when the poster in the middle of the magazine is a composer/conductor...that says a lot. I'm still a huge fan of this man.
4. I had the ticket stubs from when I went to the musical "Les Miserables"
5. I had a page from my sister's calendar, "365 Stupidest Things Ever Said". It was the day that had the quote from a Japanese Hotel encouraging you to feel at home. "Please Take Advantage of the Chamber Maid". I still laugh when I think about it. I know...I am so dorky!
So, that's a bit from my high school bulletin board.
What were the posters and keepsakes you had on your walls in high school?

Oh, Rebekah...I'd love to share that my high school bulletin board was as intention or thought-provoking as yours, but alas...boys dominated most of my bulletin board, so it was usually a picture of them! ugh...if only I could time warp back ;)
cute post :)
Kt
George Strait all the way!!!!
(Loved this post, Rebekah. Too cute!)
Pretty sure mine were pictures of horses and space shuttles. Wow, I never realized the depth, height, width, and breath my nerdiness went to until this moment. I'm hoping that didn't go into high school...maybe just jr. high. Let's say that was the case. :) I know I was jealous of your Charleton Heston picture...I wonder if our mother was proud of her little fledglings of dorks she had! ha ha!
Rebekah - this is so funny!! I had to read your heart throb out loud to Clint! :) Like you I had a bulletin board too! I had a doiley from a wedding I had been in, dried flowers, a saying about happiness given to me by my grandma, a picture of me and denise then kieser - i believe we were both wearing bib overalls, those business card sized christian sayings with little puppy's on em or something like that. Remember those you could get them at "the mustard seed." Oh thank you for taking me back in time! :) Love you!
i used to have pictures of sunsets, animals, and photos of friends, but now my bulletin board is covered in pictures of Vera Wang gowns, childhood pictures, Justin Beiber's face, and a piece of paper that says "Stress Release Station. Bang Head Here."
great idea for a post rebekah!
I did what?? You guys were so sweet to me even though I apparently was such a weirdo. Thank you for that!
As for my bulletin board... I had pictures of all my friends from Illinois, a picture of a white Chevy Lumina with it's gas tank open that me and my cousin brittany thought was funny...but to this day i can't remember why... and a picture of Tara, Kate and I in Las Vegas (during our collaborative phase of dressing like 45 year old school teachers)
such a fun post! I have to say, I don't remember ONE thing that hung on my bulletin board as a kid! Sad...I am sure it wasn't as creative as yours. I remember all the things you said were on yours...so funny! I was so envious of your fabulous picture of C.Heston!
Today I have Will's Sunday school money for the year in an envelope. Invitations, so I don't forget where we are supposed to be. Schedule for Will. A couple business cards...I have to say, if my bulletin board back in the day was as boring as mine today, no wonder I don't remember anything from it!!
