Catch Up #2

On a cold day in January, it's fun to look back at pictures from the lazy, hazy days of summer. This past year, we were blessed in a really special way by a farmer that lives about 2 miles from our home. He let us have a garden on his property and told us it could be as big as we wanted. He and his wife told us to feel free to come any time and let our kids play in the barn hay loft and run around their yard. It was an answer to prayer...I will have to share more some other time. But any way. It was a treat to be able to grow our own sweet corn this year!

These are some shots of the garden this summer.
Here is some of the bounty!

free labor...haha...doesn't Garrison look so happy about it?

They were troopers husking all the corn for me

We have been enjoying the taste of summer through the winter...nothing beats home frozen sweet corn!! It's like gold...when I pull out a bag I do it with hesitation...trying to calculate how much more time we have before we will be tasting fresh sweet corn again and trying to spread out the goodness! It's nuts really...but it's just so good.

Oh...and try to look past the freezer that obviously needs to be defrosted :)
